AC 360 Gets Graphics Backwards For CBS Iraq Camera Team
Update to the story on the CBS News team attacked in Iraq from the bid-ness side. On Monday night's Anderson Cooper 360, while fill-in host Carol Costello read the names of correspondent Kimberly Dozier who was injured and cameraman Paul Douglas and soundman James Brolan who were killed, CNN’s graphics stated the exact opposite as true.
No word of a correction or retraction as of this posting.
Two Members Of CBS TV Crew Killed In Iraq
A three-man CBS News television crew embedded with the 4th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army came under attack today in central Baghdad. London-based cameraman Paul Douglas and soundman James Brolan were killed in the attack. Correspondent Kimberly Dozier sustained serious injuries in the attack and underwent surgery at a U.S. military hospital in Baghdad.
Memorial Day 2006
Americans are honoring their war dead on this Memorial Day holiday. President Bush spoke for the nation at a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, the country's largest military cemetery. About 300 feet from the entrance to the cemetery, a handful of protesters from an anti-gay group stood across a four-lane highway, separated by a line of police cars, from a conservative group supporting the troops. This is all on the heels of yesterday's parade of motorcycle riders for through Washington for "Rolling Thunder," honors missing U.S. soldiers and prisoners of war and showing support for veterans’ rights.
An Excuse To Put Byung-Hyun Kim In An Headline
Barry Bonds hit his 715th homer yesterday, passing Babe Ruth for sole possession of second place for the career home run record, and now starting a Bonds-watch countdown of 41 to beat Hank Aaron's record of 755. Bonds already holds baseball's single-season home record.
Bonds reached his mark on a 3-2 pitch from Colorado starter Byung-Hyun Kim over the center-field fence in the fourth inning of the Rockies' 6-3 win over the Giants yesterday in San Francisco. He had 17 at-bats over fives games between hitting number 714 and number 715.

David Blaine Doesn't Do It Again
I don't t truely David Blaine didn't break the world record for holding his breath in last night's overly-hyped, newest waste of time special on ABC. He also didn't die trying, as overly advertised.
Blaine was pulled from an aquarium by divers near the end of the two-hour Monday night special, the offcial time holding his breath underwater was 7 minutes, 8 seconds. He was shooting for 9 minutes, with the record he was hopping to break at a meer 8 minutes, 58 seconds for holding one's breath underwater.
This will probably be the last David Blaine special for a hopefully long while, as ABC producer Shelley Ross, the true person responsible for this, is at the end of her contract with the network, and is not expected to resign.
