Memorial Day 2006
Americans are honoring their war dead on this Memorial Day holiday. President Bush spoke for the nation at a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, the country's largest military cemetery. About 300 feet from the entrance to the cemetery, a handful of protesters from an anti-gay group stood across a four-lane highway, separated by a line of police cars, from a conservative group supporting the troops. This is all on the heels of yesterday's parade of motorcycle riders for through Washington for "Rolling Thunder," honors missing U.S. soldiers and prisoners of war and showing support for veterans’ rights.
