A Brand New Rotary Phone For Just $29.10 A Month
First they refuse to die on time and end up sucking away my Social Security. Now we have examples of the pesky elderly not having the common courtesy to keep up with modern technology.
An 82-year-old widow from Canton, Ohio has been renting a rotary dial telephone from then AT&T/now Lucent for 42 years, paying what her family calculates as more than $14,000 for a now outdated phone. About 750,000 rotary phones are still being leased today, as demand is strangely still there, because like 82-year-old Ester Strogen says, "I'd like to have my rotary back. I like that better."
News is my profession, so it only fits that I am a news junkie. I'm a radio show/segment producer for a news/talk radio station in Little Rock, Arkansas.
